The Republican National Committee has removed a webpage from 2020 that praised Former President Donald Trump for signing a ‘historic’ peace deal with the Taliban.
The page was titled ‘President trump Is Bringing Peace in the Middle East’ which described how he was continuing to take the lead in peace talks. When users tried the visit this page Sunday evening, there was an error message that read ‘it looks like you are as lost as Biden is’ (Dailymail.co.uk). This came with an image of President Biden.
Biden has criticized Trump’s agreement with the Taliban and has used this to say it gave Biden little option but to withdraw troops. On Sunday, Trump sent out a statement calling on Biden to ‘resign in disgrace’ with the Taliban’s takeover after withdrawing US troops stating it is ‘one of the greatest defeats in American history.’
Later on in this statement he said it in reference to Biden stepping down that ‘it shouldn’t be a big deal, because he wasn’t elected legitimately in the first place.’ Biden decided back in April to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by August 31. This plan has been nearly completed about two weeks ahead of time (newsweek).
