Sentencing of “Easter Bunny” thief who stole 200K Cadbury eggs delayed 2 weeks

The sentencing hearing for the Englishman dubbed “the Easter Bunny” by British police has been delayed by two weeks, leaving the chocolate bandit waiting longer to find out what punishment he will receive for stealing 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs last month.

The man, Joby Pool, was scheduled to be sentenced this week after being convicted on several charges after he broke into an industrial park in February and stole a truck containing over 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs and other chocolate products worth over $38,000. Pool then drove the trailer containing the chocolate out of the park and was apprehended by police on a nearby highway.

The chocolate heist was pulled off using a stolen semi truck, and the judge in the case would like more information about the stolen cab used to pull the candy trailer before delivering a sentence in the case. The new date set for the Pool’s sentencing is March 28.

This was not Pool’s first brush with the law, having previously been convicted of handling stolen goods. He is facing jail time and is expected to receive about two years for the failed egg-scapade.
