Texas State Trooper Chad Walker was reportedly shot in the head and abdomen by an armed gunman near Mexia. Walker currently remains in a stable– but critical– condition.
KXAN, a news outlet, has recently come out with the news of a recent Texas manhunt. The perpetrator has not yet been caught. However, officials have recently identified the suspect. State Trooper Walker is in critical condition, as of now, recovering at a hospital in Mexia. He checked into the hospital around 8pm.
The Department of Health has identified the suspect as one DeArthur Pinson, Jr. Pinson allegedly shot at Walker, the Department of Health State Trooper. The Central Texas Region twitter page sent out a tweet saying “DeArthur Pinson Jr. DOB 7/15/84 is currently wanted in connection to a shooting of a Texas DPS Trooper near Mexia, Texas.
“Pinson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Contact 911 immediately with any information on his whereabouts,” the Mexia police department tweeted on March 27th. This tweet came with a picture of DeArthur Pinson, Jr. The KXAN report continues to describe Pinson’s appearance, describing “a black male about 6 feet in height.” Officials report Pinson was last seen wearing a hoodie with shorts, which had a white strip going down the sides of the shorts. He was also seen wearing glasses on his body. The Department of Health issued a blue report– a report dealt to those who kill or seriously injure a law enforcement officer– of DeArthur Pinson Jr early on Saturday morning.
Law enforcement has suggested that Americans should not interact with this figure under any circumstances. This man has already shown that he can seriously injure if not kill a person. Law enforcement has suggested any person who should see the suspect to immediately alert law enforcement but do not engage directly with the suspect. It’s said that the suspect is likely to be armed with a firearm and is a great risk to the public.
