Trump-era White House physician calls for Biden to take cognitive test, citing ‘mental incompetence’

In 2018, White House physician Ronny Jackson stood before a room of reporters and praised then-President Donald Trump’s cognitive state as “very sharp” and “very intact.”

The president, Jackson boasted, had aced a cognitive assessment meant to disprove claims that his mental health was deteriorating. Jackson now wants Joe Biden to take a cognitive test, citing “mental impairment.” Jackson went onto say that the results should be made public. Jackson, along with 13 other GOP lawmakers signed a letter on Thursday claiming that Biden has shown signs of poor mental state and should take the test to prove otherwise.

“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their president,” said Jackson, who was found to have made inappropriate sexual remarks and bullied staff as White House physician, said in a news release. “I would argue that the American people don’t have that confidence in President Biden.” Biden, the oldest president in history, is due to have a physical later this year. Stuart Jay Olshansky, a professor of public health at the University of Illinois at Chicago has suggested a life expectancy of 97 years old for Joe Biden.
