According to a report by the Associated Press, the committee tasked with aiding Republicans take control of the House in the upcoming 2022 mid-term elections fundraised $45.4 million in the course of three months.
Republicans raised a record-breaking total of $20.1 million in the month of June, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $14.4 million for that same month, having a total of only $36.5 million in the second quarter, according to the report. AP further claims that the National Republican Congressional Committee will report raising $79.2 million in half the year beating the $44.5 million raised in 2019 and holding the record of the most raised in that certain period in the history of the committee.
GOP fundraising has been boosted by contributions from Donald Trump and GOP members such as House Republican Kevin McCarthy who donated $12.76 million and House Republican Steve Scalise who donated $8.39 million.
“We will take back the majority next fall and voters are doing everything they can to help us accomplish that goal,” said NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer. “Every vulnerable House Democrat should be eyeing the exits because if they choose to run, they will lose.”
