Charges filed against Texas woman who threatened judge in Trump special master case

Federal charges have been filed against a woman from Houston who left threatening voicemails for the judge who is deciding the special master case related to the documents seized by the FBI at Mar-a-Lago last month.

Tiffany Shea Gish was arrested last week after she left a series of three voicemails for federal Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee in the Southern District of Florida.

Gish threatened to assassinate Cannon and Trump in her voicemails, saying Cannon was “helping” the former president perpetuate his lies about fraud in the 2020 election.

Gish left the messages for Cannon on September 1, identifying herself as Evelyn Salt, the fictional name of Angelina Jolie’s character in the 2010 movie Salt.

Gish told Cannon that Trump is “marked for assassination and so are you” and that if Cannon did not “stand the f–k down” she would “get shot.” In a second message, Gish said she had “already ordered snipers and a bomb” to Cannon’s house.

Authorities went to Gish’s house on September 4, where she admitted to making the calls to Cannon. She was charged in federal court on the 6th, and has been ordered held by the judge, who points out Gish “appears to suffer from severe mental impairments with symptoms including paranoia and delusions.”

Cannon is presiding over the case that will decide how a special master, a third party who assists a federal judge in reviewing the documents seized in the Mar-a-Lago raid, will proceed with their duties and the scope of their role.
