Top Republican on House Oversight says Hunter Biden, Fauci will be investigated if GOP retakes House

Republican House Oversight committee congressman James Comer (R-KY) has said that if the Republicans are able to take back the House in the midterms, they will open an investigation into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. Comer said this during an interview with Major Garrett on CBS News.

“I believe that his son is that corrupt,” Comer said, alleging that Hunter has cashed in using his last name. He accused Joe Biden of protecting his son from any investigations. “Any father would probably do that,” he said, per CBS News. “But the problem is Hunter Biden is a national security threat.”

Comer was asked during the interview whether he thought there was enough evidence to link Joe Biden to Hunter’s business deals and also whether this could trigger an impeachment. “I haven’t seen that yet,” Comer replied. President Biden has consistently denied being involved in any of Hunter’s business deals.

Comer has also set his sights on the Chief Medical Adviser to the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauci. When questioned on the origin of COVID-19, Fauci is steadfast in his belief that it is most likely a “natural occurrence,” as opposed escaping from a lab in Wuhan, China.

Fauci addressed a Senate committee this week and said that the virus probably leapt from “an animal host, perhaps through an intermediary host, into a human species, which then spread throughout the human population.”

Comer went onto express his frustrations at the government’s lack of effort to ascertain how COVID came into play. “We are not going to let up on that,” Comer told Garrett. “I think the American people deserve to know the truth about COVID 19. They deserve to have a government try to actually find the truth about where the COVID 19 originated from.”

Fauci was previously interviewed on “The Takeout” and said he would be ok with any further scrutiny into his work as he has nothing to hide. “Absolutely not at all,” Fauci said. I have nothing to hide. There’s nothing to be afraid of. I’m an open book.”
