‘Scrubs’ producer arrested, charged with multiple sexual assaults between 2013 and 2019

Former Scrubs producer Eric Weinberg was arrested last week by the Los Angeles Police Department on suspicion of several sexual assaults police say occurred between 2013 and 2019.

The LAPD released a statement on Thursday saying Weinberg had been arrested in connection with a series of sexual assaults he carried out by luring women at grocery stores, coffee shops, and other public places. According to the statement, Weinberg would purport to be a professional photographer and when he had the women in the middle of a photo shoot at his home, he would sexually assault them.

Police say they have reason to believe there are other victims who have been assaulted by the long-time television producer dating back to the 1990s, and have asked anyone who has information or was victimized by Weinberg to come forward with information. He is being held on $3.225 million bail.

Weinberg is best known for his work on over 100 episodes of the hit television series Scrubs, but has also produced and written episodes of other popular shows including American Dad and Politically Incorrect.

A neighbor of the producer told CBS News they had heard rumors of Weinberg’s reputation for being a sexual predator. “A friend of mine pointed out the house and said, ‘Watch out. I personally know of a ton of girls who have been, specifically lured into that house and have been assaulted,” the unidentified neighbor said.

Police urge anyone with information about Weinberg’s assaults to contact the LAPD at (323)561-3272.
