Wikipedia deletes entry for Hunter Biden investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners

On Wednesday of last week, the editors of the popular internet encyclopedia database Wikipedia removed the entry that had been written for Rosemont Seneca Partners on the basis that it was “not notable,” according to archived comments from its Talk Page.

The investment company was co-founded by Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, and has been the center of many questions revolving around his overseas business dealings. 

“This organization is only mentioned in connection with its famous founders, Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz,” commented a Wiki editor who was identified only by the name Alex and additionally warned that “keeping [the page] around” ran the risk of the page turning into “a magnet for conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden.”

The option to merge the story with the official site page about Hunter Biden was also overruled. The article itself was relatively short, lacking important details, and, according to the New York Post, “in bad need of an overhaul.”

Still, it gave information regarding the company’s creation: “Rosemont Seneca Partners is an investment fund firm based in Washington, D.C. The fund was named after the Rosemont Farm, the Heinz family’s estate near Pittsburgh. It was founded in 2009 by Hunter Biden, Christopher Heinz. And Devon Archer. Hunter Biden’s lawyer stated ‘Hunter Biden had no interest in and was not a ‘co-founder’ of Rosemont Seneca Thornton.’”

The page went on to add, “Christopher Heinz is the stepson of Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. Archer is a businessman who was Heinz’s classmate at Yale University.” 

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has said that the site cannot be trusted as a valuable source of information because he feels it has tilted too far left and become “propaganda.” Last year, Sanger said. “There’s a very big, nasty, complex game being played behind the scenes to make the articles say what somebody wants them to say.”
