Additional US troops deployed to Europe amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine

The United States deployed 130 more troops to Europe as the Russian invasion of Ukraine expands and escalates.
The newest deployment brings the number of US troops stationed around Europe to a total of approximately 12,000. They are being sent to locations throughout Eastern Europe and in NATO countries as Russian troops inched closer to Kyiv on Saturday.
Members of the 87th Division Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, departed on a chartered flight from Hunter Airfield in Savannah on Friday.
Troops from the 3rd Division have allegedly been told to prepare for about six months of deployment to the region, with possible extension based on unfolding events in Ukraine.
The Biden administration continues to stress that no US troops will enter Ukraine, and that their current mission is to train alongside NATO ally troops in order to deter Russia from further escalation.
