Spotify and Discord were both offline briefly on Tuesday afternoon before restoring service.
Users were unable to access the listening platform Spotify and the voice, video and tech app Discord for about two hours on Tuesday afternoon.
Users began posting about the outages around 1pm on Tuesday, and the crowd-sourced outage tracking site Down Detector confirmed both platforms were inaccessible.
Spotify acknowledged the outage via Tweet, writing, “Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!” Discord followed shortly after, Tweeting, “We’re aware of an issue causing message failures and are working on a fix. Apologies for the disruption & thx for hanging tight!”
Both platforms informed users they would be back and up running soon, and by 4PM both were back online. Neither has offered a public explanation for the outages.
