‘Masked Singer’ judges walk off in protest after Rudy Giuliani appears

Even though the newest season of Fox’s competitive show “The Mased Singer” has not yet aired, the hit reality has already caused news stir with a surprising unmasking at the first episode’s taping.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was revealed as one of the first contestants to be eliminated for the seventh season premiere, which caused judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke to walk off the set in protest.

As Jeong and Thicke exited the stage, the shows two other judges, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger, stayed in their places and chatted with the former mayor. It was not revealed what costume was Giuliani’s, nor the song he was singing that caused him to be eliminated from the show.

The new season of the singing competition television program is set to premier on March 9. The show has been known in the past to surprise judges, fans, and even the show’s host with dramatic celebrity unmaskings.

Host Nick Cannon during Season 3 noted that he could not believe what he was seeing when Sarah Palin was shockingly revealed as the participant wearing the Bear costume. “This might be the most shocked I’ve ever been on this show,” Cannon said at the time.

Last month, Giuliani was named on a list of witnesses to whom subpoenas were issued by the U.S. House select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

“The four individuals we’ve subpoenaed today advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former president about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes,” said the committee in a statement that was released at the time.
