Rapper Kodak Black arrested in Broward County on trespassing charges

Rapper Kodak Black was arrested on Saturday in Pompano Beach, Florida on misdemeanor trespassing charges.

The details of what led up to the arrest are unclear, but Kodak Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was taken into custody by Broward County sheriff’s deputies. Black posted bond at about 4am and was released.

This was not Black’s first arrest. He was arrested previously for gun and drug charges and served about half of a three and a half year sentence before former President Donald Trump commuted his sentence and pardoned him.

Black has most recently made headlines for his philanthropic efforts, which include paying for the funeral of a South Carolina police officer, and paying for college for the children of two slain FBI agents.

He also donated $100,000 to Nova Southeastern University law school in memory of Meadow Pollack, who was killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting of 2018.

Black is eligible to be nominated for nine awards at the 2022 Grammys.
