At a mass in the Bronx on Sunday, Hochul urged parishioners to evangelize to their fellow citizens that they must get the vaccine or else they are defying God. She said that “Christians who are not vaccinated against COVID aren’t listening to God,” adding that God wants them vaccinated.
“Yes, I know you’re vaccinated, you’re the smart ones, but you know, there are people out there who aren’t listening to God and what God wants. You know, this, you know who they are.” stated Hochul. She continued, “I need you to be my apostles, I need you to go out and talk about it and say, we owe this to each other.”
Hochul recently announced that she will be implementing a vaccine mandate for healthcare workers in the state of New York, and failure to comply will result in loss of unemployment benefits if the healthcare workers quit in protest—something that many have already done, leading to one hospital so understaffed that they closed their maternity ward (Freedom Wire).
In mid-September, Hochul vowed to fight back against a lawsuit filed by a group of Christian health care practitioners who decried New York’s COVID vaccine mandate as unconstitutional because it failed to provide religious exemptions. A federal judge temporarily blocked New York from enforcing the vaccine mandate’s clause on prohibiting religious exemptions.
The group of Christian health care workers claimed that they do not want to be forced to get vaccinated with an experimental drug that uses aborted fetal cell lines in its testing, development, or production. The groups say that all three COVID vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, have used fetal cell lines during its research and development.
In South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s words about the Biden administration, “they many times talk about being religious. But I think that it’s really time for all of us to look at the actions of our leaders and see if they line up with the Word of God” (Christianity Daily).
