A wealthy GOP donor allegedly offered money to the family of a minor whom he trafficked and has since been arrested.
Anton ‘Tony’ Lazzaro (30) is a political strategist, entrepreneur and donor to the Republican Party, namely the Minnesota Republicans. He posted pictures showcasing an exciting and extravagant lifestyle, even flaunting pictures with prominent members of the GOP, including Senator Lindsey Graham, Fox News Host Tucker Carlson, and former president Donald Trump. But on August 12, he and Gisela Castro Medina (19) were arrested. Lazarro is being charged with several counts of child sex trafficking, although his lawyer denied the allegations.
Lazzaro met Medina on a “sugar dating” website in 2020. He allegedly gave Media “money and gifts” to groom underage women for sex. According to the lawsuit, Media met the plaintiff, a 16-year old, in May 2020 and began grooming her before introducing her to Lazzaro. Lazzaro reportedly “committed multiple commercial sex acts against” the girl until July 2020, after which the minor was contacted by Lazzaro’s lawyer.
His lawyer explained that the plaintiff was defaming Lazzaro on social media and he would pay the family $1000 in exchange for their silence in the form of a nondisclosure agreement. The offer was declined and law enforcement were contacted.
Since his arrest, people linked to him have worked to create distance between themselves and Lazzaro, even going so far as to publicly denounce him. Jennifer Carnahan, Minnesota’s GOP chair, was arrested after Lazzaro because of her close ties to him. She denied knowing about the alleged trafficking and predicted Lazzaro would spend the rest of his life behind bars.
