Former official claims US military had drone locked on Kabul suicide bomber but didn’t take the shot

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Pardo-Maurer claimed that the U.S. Department of Defense knew who the suicide bomber was ahead of time, before the bombing, and when and where the Kabul attack would occur.

He stated not only did they know when and where the attack would happen, but that they had a Predator drone locked on the bomber (Citizen Free Press). “A Predator drone had a lock on him,” and the DOD “refused to grant permission to fire upon that bomber.” stated Roger Pardo-Maurer. “Because we are in a process of negotiating with the Taliban, they aren’t even in control of their own government or their own people” he stated.

The suicide bombing, at Kabul International Airport, took the lives of 13 members of the US Armed Forces, while evacuations of Americans and Afghan allies were underway during the final days of the 20-year war in the nation of Afganistan.

The death toll from the attack in Afghanistan was over 100. Head of US Central Command General Frank McKenzie said shortly thereafter that more attacks may be likely.

There are still Americans in Afghanistan awaiting evacuations (Post Millennial).
