Nine lawyers allied with Trump sanctioned by federal judge over Michigan lawsuit

Nine attorneys, including Sidney Powell and Lin wood have been sanctioned by a federal judge in Michigan in regards to them alleging that there was widespread election fraud.

In the case entitled Timothy King, et al., Plaintiffs, v. Gretchen Whitmer, et al., Defendants., and City of Detroit, Democratic National Committee, Michigan Democratic Party, and Robert Davis, the plaintiffs were found to be at fault. The plaintiffs consisted of nine attorneys who tried to decertify the election results in the state of Michigan and claimed there was widespread election fraud. So far, they have been charged only in the state of Michigan, but they could potentially be charged in other states as well (Forbes).

Judge Linda V. Parker wrote in the opinion: “It is another to take on the charge of deceiving a federal court and the American people into believing that rights were infringed, without regard to whether any laws or rights were in fact violated. This is what happened here.”

The judge penalized the plaintiffs and ordered them to pay the defendants’ legal fees. They will be required to attend a minimum of 12 hours of “continuing legal education” on pleading standards and election law. In addition, the plaintiffs will be “referred to disciplinary boards where they’re licensed for investigation and possible suspension or disbarment.”
