Florida Representative Matt Gaetz celebrated his elopement to fiance Ginger Luckey on Catalina Island in California.
In a Twitter post following the elopement, Gaetz posted a photo of himself and Luckey, writing, “I love my wife!” Reporting by Vanity Fair suggests the ceremony was small with a mere 40 attendees and a former staffer conducting the ceremony, reporting, “Aside from former Rand Paul staffer Sergio Gor, who took up the dual role of officiant and DJ, and War Room hosts Raheem Kassam and Natalie Winters, few political personas were in attendance.”
The pair were engaged earlier this year, prior to a host of controversial and perverted claims surrounding the Republican lawmaker. Gaetz is part of an ongoing investigation into sex trafficking of an underage girl, claims which he has repeatedly denied and is cooperating with the Department of Justice.
Joel Greenberg, a Florida resident, and friend of Gaetz, also plead guilty to paying for sex with women, including a 17-year-old. “On more than one occasion, this individual was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District and myself,” Greenberg wrote in reference to the 17-year-old.
