Rep. Bryon Donalds criticizes Pelosi for allegedly violating her own mask mandate

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ordered the Capitol physician to reinstate a mask mandate in the lower chamber, but not the upper chamber. Within a few days, Pelosi violated her own requested mandate.

First, she asked to remove her mask for a photo op with Representative Jake Ellzey, his wife, and their children. All five promptly removed their masks to take the photo. On the same day, Pelosi was reportedly seen without a mask while addressing Democrat leaders from a podium, and even when she stepped down she did not put a mask on.

During an interview with Newsmax, Representative Bryon Donalds said, “If Capitol Police attempts to remove my staff from the Capitol they’re going to have to remove me first. My staff works for me and the great people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District- not Nancy Pelosi.”

Representative Barry Loudermilk said, “So, what are we doing? Following the science or Pelosi’s political moves? It’s Pelosi’s political moves.” On Thursday, Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Chip Roy, and Madison Cawthorn, made a statement in opposition to the mandate by crossing the Capitol and entering the Senate floor maskless.
