GOP’s Kevin McCarthy promises ‘real investigations’ into democrat ‘fraud and abuse’

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy vowed to organize “real investigations” into Democrat’s “fraud and abuse.”

McCarthy referred to insider trading by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband, asking, “Which American would not be worried about [inflation]? Pelosi wouldn’t be worried about it because she and her husband just made $5 million, not buying stock, but trading options on tech stocks when Congress was actually taking legislation up, $5 million in one month. Can you imagine that?”

McCarthy also referred to the conflict of interests regarding President Biden’s son’s overpriced art, to which he said, “And then you’ve got the only other person who wouldn’t be nervous about inflation. If you had a son that was an artist that could sell paintings for $500,000 — which, he’s never been an artist before. Those are the only two families that I could think of that aren’t worried about inflation in America.”

America’s recent economic strife is reflected in high unemployment, rising inflation, and government dependency. Republican Leader McCarthy has consistently been an outspoken critic of the Biden Administration and Speaker Pelosi. Regarding her January 6th investigation committee, he said, “The idea that she’s going to pick and choose — you’re not going to get an outcome. This is a sham committee that’s just politically driven by Speaker Pelosi.”
