A new Rasmussen poll suggests the majority of American voters think former President Donald Trump deserves more credit for COVID-19 vaccines than President Biden.
51 percent of respondents gave more credit to Trump, while 41 percent chose Biden. “Eighty percent of Republican voters think Trump deserves more credit for the COVID-19 vaccination program, as do 21 percent of Democrats and 53 percent of voters not affiliated with either major party,” the report says.
The report states, “Seventy-one percent of Democrats believe Biden deserves more credit for the COVID-19 vaccination program, but only 15 percent of Republicans and 32 percent of unaffiliated voters agree.” When asked if they approve of Biden’s handling of the pandemic, 81% of Democrats approved compared to only 32% of Republicans and 52% of non-affiliated voters.
During the Trump administration, Operation Warp Speed was launched to produce and distribute COVID-19 vaccines across the country. At the time, White House spokesperson Judd Deere said, “Under President Trump’s leadership, vaccine and therapeutic research, development, and trials have advanced at unprecedented speed to deliver groundbreaking, effective medicines driven by data and safety and not held back by government red tape.”
