Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, is implementing its own version of a vaccine passport.
Employees are asked to ‘self-report’ their vaccination status to receive a “Fox Clear Pass.” The pass allows employees to work without a mask and disregard social distancing practices. According to Fox, unvaccinated employees must follow COVID-19 guidelines and report daily virus screenings. Popular television hosts Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham previously rallied against vaccine passports and mandates.
Carlson compared the idea to Jim Crow Laws and Ingraham noted the vaccine is still an ‘experimental drug,’ as it has yet to gain full FDA approval. Last week, Carlson supporting conservative leader Charlie Kirk’s non-partisan organization, Turning Point USA, in their latest vaccine transparency campaign. Carlson featured Kirk, who announced TPUSA’s “Educate, Don’t Mandate” upcoming efforts to prevent institutions from mandating vaccines for students.
According to Fox Corp. Human Resources, the company “developed a secure, voluntary way for employees to self-attest their vaccination status.” The company has yet to fully return employees to the office, with hundreds continuing to work remotely.
