On Tuesday, a brick wall containing a mural of George Floyd collapsed in Toledo, Ohio after being struck by lightning.
Police responded to the incident and secured the area, however they were unable to aid as the wall had been almost entirely desto while the owner of the building cleaned up the collapsed bricks and tore down the rest of the remaining mural.
Toledo’s fire and rescue department’s spokesperson claimed a lightning strike had hit and destroyed the George Floyd mural painted by the artist David Ross. Local news had also reported their radar had also picked up lightning in the area. On top of that, a witness responded to authorities that they had seen a lightning strike hit the exact structure and rescuers affirmed this to be the cause.
