Library apologizes after hosting ‘rainbow dildo butt monkey’ to entertain children

A London Library is apologizing after hosting a “rainbow dildo butt monkey” to perform in front of children at a community event.

Redbridge Libraries in London hosted a summer reading event featuring ‘entertainment’ from the Mandinga Arts Group. In videos posted online, a male adult is seen wearing a multi-colored monkey suit with a fake penis, exposed nipples, and bare buttocks. Redbridge allowed the event to go on, however, the library was quick to apologize after receiving criticism online.

Part of their statement reads, “Unfortunately one of the animal costumes was inappropriate which we were not aware of at the time of booking. We deeply apologise for the offence caused.” While the library claims to have not known the show would include the inappropriate costume, they did not cancel the event or stop the man from disturbing children and parents in public.

The apology continued, with the library passing blame along, “This event was arranged by Vision and not Redbridge Council. Upon receiving complaints passed on by the Leader and Deputy Leader, we ceased the performance and are truly apologetic for the distress caused to residents.”
