Hotel maid tips off police, possibly preventing ‘Vegas style’ massacre at All-Stars game

A hotel maid tipped off police after finding over a dozen weapons and 1,000 rounds of ammunition in a hotel room near Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

The weaponry was found in the Maven Hotel, just two blocks from the stadium hosting the All-Star game on Tuesday this week. According to officers, 16 long guns, body armor, and ammo were removed from the room, which had a balcony overlooking downtown. Three men and a woman occupying the room were arrested and charged with weapons possession.

Three of the suspects have criminal records, and prior to arrest, one of the men made a social media post saying he would “go out in a big way.” Investigators are applauding the maid for her discovery and suggesting a shooting reminiscent of the Las Vegas massacre could have occurred.

“The investigation and arrests were the result of a tip from the public, serving as an excellent example of the critical role the community plays in public safety,” read a police statement. In 2017, a gunman attacked a music festival and killed 59 people while shooting from a hotel balcony. The incident is recognized as the largest mass shooting in America.
