Donald Trump enters UFC 264 to cheers and chants of “U-S-A!”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship 264 crowd welcomed former President Donald Trump with a standing ovation and chants of ‘U-S-A.’

A small wave of booing was drowned out by a supportive crowd and rally-esque cheers. Former President Trump made his entrance through the fighter tunnel alongside Dana White, founder of UFC and a friend of Trump’s. During his time in office, Trump became the first sitting president to attend a UFC fight. In 2020, White spoke at the Republican National Convention in support of Trump’s reelection.

Saturday night’s event was headlined by Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, the last fight in the pair’s trilogy. McGregor suffered a broken ankle and Poirier won the match.

The event was held in Las Vegas, a city with a majority of Democrat-voting residents and a Democrat mayor. Although, the mayor of North Las Vegas, John Lee, recently left the Democrat party to become a Republican. Lee called the Democrat party “socialist” and “elitist.”
