Democrat Tulsi Gabbard accuses Chicago mayor of ‘anti-white racism,’ calls for resignation

Tulsi Gabbard, former United States House Representative, called upon the immediate resignation of Democrat Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for her ‘anti-white racism’.

Prominent Democrat and mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot garnered backlash from many after letters she sent to multiple Chicago media outlets in which she said she won’t take any questions from white reporters. Lightfoot is the city’s first black, lesbian mayor. According to Newsweek’s report, “In her letter, Lightfoot, who is also a Democrat, contended that the media in Chicago is overwhelmingly led and managed by white people. The mayor said that, as a woman of color and a member of the LGBTQ community, she hoped news media outlets would become more reflective of the diverse city they cover.”

Tulsi Gabbard took to Twitter in response to the mayor’s outlandish comments where she said, “Mayor Lightfoot’s blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent. I call upon President Biden, Kamala Harris, and other leaders of our county [sic]—of all races—to join me in calling for Mayor Lightfoot’s resignation. Our leaders must condemn all racism, including anti-white.” Most of the criticism came from right-wing individuals, Gabbard herself being a Democrat from Hawaii.
