Last week, Joe and Jill Biden paid a visit to Former President Jimmy Carter and Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
It was the first time they had seen each other since Biden’s rise to presidency. Jimmy Carter is 96 and Rosalynn Carter is 93, so they did not attend Biden’s inauguration due to the pandemic. “It was great to see President Carter…It reminded me that I was the first person to endorse him outside of Georgia. And we sat and talked about the old days and he introduced me to a friend of his, a reverend he wanted me to get to know, and Rosalynn was great, too. We just had a nice time. We’re old friends,” Biden said. The Carters publicized a photo of the visit soon after, an extremely peculiar one.
In the photo, the Carters are seated in their living room with the Bidens kneeling beside them. However, due to what’s believed to have been a mistake on the photographer’s account, you might see the Bidens towering over the Carters, or the Carters infinitesimal in size. “We voted for Biden because he’s a decent human being with sound policies but also because he and Jill are giants who will crush you if you make them angry,” tweeted Sister Celluloid. In the photo neither the Bidens or the Carter’s are wearing masks, which has also led to some criticism over Biden’s mixed message over masks.
