Dr. Anthony Fauci says that outdoor risk to COVID-19 is ‘really, really quite low’

Dr. Fauci has said that he expects the CDC to revise their outdoor mask guidance.

On Sunday, Dr. Anthony Fauci commented on the latest talk of the CDC dismissing the need to wear masks when one is just outside. “I think it’s pretty common sense now that outdoor risk is really, really quite low,” Fauci said, “What I believe you’re going to be hearing, what the country is going to be hearing soon is updated guidelines from the CDC.” Out of courtesy of the CDC and the timely processes a federal agency must see through, Fauci establishes his unwillingness to step on their toes.

Before stating he expects the CDC to change their guidance, he says “I don’t want to get ahead of them”, clarifying that the idea of walking outside maskless is not yet set in stone. Although it seems rather obvious to most that it’s okay to walk around outside without a mask, the CDC is an agency of scientists. Being the organization of science that they are, they still want to ensure to the best of their ability, that probability is in our favor against the odds of transmissions rising due to the new guidance. “The CDC is a science-based organization. They don’t want to make any guidelines unless they look at the data, and the data backs it up…”, Fauci assured.
