President Biden releases plan to cut greenhouse emissions by decreasing American meat consumption

In a recent video, President Joe Biden released a plan to cut greenhouse emissions by 50-52%, claiming that this would help us reach a zero emissions economy by 2050.

No firm details have been released on how this would work and how it would affect the United States’ citizens. However many studies and scientists have released what it would take to reach this level. The Dailymail has outlined what exactly would need to be cut to reach President Biden’s goal.

One change would be to cut American’s red meat consumption by 90%, four pounds per year, or one pound per month. The second change would be in the cars we drive, changing from gas run cars to electric cars. This would lead to everyone buying new cars, which would cost about $55,000/American family.

The third change outlined would be refitting homes with electric heating, rather than heating from natural gases and oils. This would need to be changed in about 25% of the country’s houses or 5.1 million houses. This would cost about $5,613 per house, according to HomeAdviser. With all these changes to the energy world, it would also raise taxes for the average American by $3,500 per year.
