Documents have revealed that Rep. Maxine Waters put in a form to the US Capitol Police to send her an armed police escort to Minnesota, despite her public support of communities speaking against the police.
The request form was obtained by Townhall journalist, Katie Pavlich, however there has so far been no verification from US Capitol Police that the document is 100% authentic, nor has there been comment from Maxine Waters’ Office.
This news comes as her most recent, highly controversial comments encouraging protesters to get “more confrontational” if Derek Chauvin was not convicted of all charges in his trial. “We’ve got to stay in the streets, and we’ve got to demand justice,” she urged the crowd, who earlier had been chanting, “No good cops in a racist system!,” “F–k your curfew!” and “No justice, no peace!” “We’re looking for a guilty verdict” in the Chauvin case, Waters said. “And if we don’t, we cannot go away, we’ve got to get more confrontational.” Since the incident, violence has erupted in Brooklyn Center, where dozens have been arrested amid rioting and looting.
Republicans have bashed the congresswoman over her calls, saying her incendiary comments could incite violence in a state already on edge. Waters, 82, flew from Dulles International Airport to Minnesota-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday and demanded a guilty verdict for the former officer. The document published by the outlet lists the “requesting organization” as the US Capitol Police and the “name of the primary protectee” as Waters, who was flying on Delta. “Police escort In & Out” is listed as a special request on the document, which describes the “risk factor” as “moderate.”
